Applying for positions
Most opportunities available within OTF are permanent, full-time positions; however, occasionally part-time and temporary positions are also available.

After the closing date, we review all applications received and applicants who best meet the advertised requirements are invited for an interview, usually within two to three weeks of the closing date.
We thank all applicants in advance but will acknowledge only those selected for an interview.
Positions requiring proficiency in French
OTF services are provided to the public in French in areas of Ontario designated under the French Language Services Act. Some positions therefore require the ability to communicate in both English and French. These career opportunities are advertised in both English and French, and the qualifications include the phrase "proficiency in English and French is required".
Applicants must possess the necessary French-language skills for the work. OTF will confirm that the successful candidate meets the oral and written standards by conducting part of the selection process in French and a formal linguistic evaluation.
Applicants may apply in English or French. The Selection Process
Following the closing date we will contact those applicants whom we would like to invite to participate in the selection process.
OTF uses a variety of selection methods, which may include use of social media tools for first screening of applications, followed by panel interviews with subsequent formal or informal stages. During interviews candidates are asked a set of questions which are prepared to assess each candidate's skills and experience against the requirements for the job. Each interviewee is asked the same questions, so there is a common basis for assessment.
Other Selection Methods
There are a variety of selection methods available for managers to use to identify the best qualified candidate for a position. These may include tests, requests for work samples, behavioural competency assessments, and skills demonstrations, such as preparing presentations.
Candidates invited to participate in the selection process will be asked to submit names of employment references who can provide information on their work experience. Other methods of evaluation may include background checks, social media checks and other assessment tools, with prior notice given to candidates.
When contacted, candidates will be provided with an overview of the various elements of the selection process -- such as tests, skills demonstrations, etc. We will provide employment accommodation (i.e. wheelchair accessible location; rescheduling of interviews that fall on religious holidays) if we are advised of an applicant's needs in advance of any part of the selection process.
