Bethany United Church c/o Bethany Pontypool Pastoral Charge$110,000 over one year for repairs to the building's roof and eavestroughs. These upgrades will extend the life and improve the comfort of this well-used community facility in the village of Bethany.
Big Brothers and Sisters of Ajax Pickering$56,800 over three years to expand an in-school mentoring program and establish a group recreational program to improve learning and personal growth opportunities for children and youth in Ajax and Pickering.
Club Loreley$16,600 over one year to install an automatic door opener and repave a parking lot. The upgrades will improve accessibility to a facility that promotes the preservation of German culture and language in the Oshawa area.
Colborne Fastball League c/o Township of Cramahe$14,000 over one year to purchase equipment that will make Memorial Park safer and more attractive for fastball, slow pitch and youth leagues.
Community Living West Northumberland$64,100 over two years to purchase expertise, hardware and software to develop a database and website. This will allow people with disabilities and their families to access their own information and will increase the efficiency of the organization.
Community Opportunity & Innovation Network (Peterborough) Inc.$75,000 over one year to start the Living-Ed Centre, which will offer skill development and leisure learning opportunities to people facing barriers to employment in Peterborough City, Peterborough County and Trent Hills.
Durham Sustainability Stewardship Program Collaborative
c/o Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement (OCETA)$143,100 over three years for materials, workshops and a co-ordinator to provide outreach and public education. Students, residents, businesses and other stakeholders in Durham Region will learn about sustainable production and consumption practices.
Durham Youth Orchestra$14,500 over one year to purchase a portable staging system and a computer for the Durham Youth Orchestra, which will enhance performances and organizational efficiency.
Friends of Music$21,000 over three years to hire a marketing administrator to train volunteers, increase ticket sales and enhance media interest in the concert series offered to residents of Northumberland County.
Haliburton County Community Co-operative$8,000 over one year for a project co-ordinator and publicity to organize and promote a winter folk-music event in Haliburton, which will encourage participants and the community to develop artistic and cultural appreciation and skills.
Hospice Northumberland Lakeshore$29,400 over three years for resource development staffing and promotion materials. This will allow the organization to recruit more volunteers and offer more programs and services for people diagnosed with terminal illnesses in Northumberland County.
Hucklebug Preschool Inc.$47,600 over one year to purchase and install playground equipment, which will increase play and physical-activity opportunities for children in the communities of Havelock and Norwood.
Kawartha Lakes Aquatic Weeds Management Project c/o Kawartha Lakes Stewards Association$49,400 over 20 months to increase knowledge and public awareness of the impact of various aquatic weed-control practices on the Kawartha Lakes by conducting research and distributing the Kawartha Weed Management Manual to the public.
Kawartha Olympic Wrestling Club c/o Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association$53,600 over one year to purchase new equipment, timers and a laptop, which will help to improve the safety, performance and efficiency of this club for children and youth in Norwood, Port Hope and Peterborough.
Lakeland Alliance c/o Peterborough Green-Up Association$150,200 over three years for communication materials, computer equipment and staff. An outreach program will be produced to educate stakeholders about lake stewardship in the Kawartha Lake watershed. Another OTF grant will support this activity.
Leaskdale Church and Manse Team c/o Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario$70,300 over one year to renovate the Leaskdale Church in Uxbridge, which will serve as a community meeting place and interpretive centre for the national historic site, Leaskdale Manse, the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Northumberland Chorus$11,500 over one year to purchase risers, digital recording equipment and music. The equipment will allow more people in Northumberland to participate in the chorus, including people with hearing disabilities.
Northumberland Food 4 All Warehouse c/o Northumberland United Way$45,000 over one year to purchase a 20-foot refrigeration truck that will be used to pick up and distribute food and other large-scale donations to more than 150 member organizations.
Orono Skate Park Committee c/o Orono Amateur Athletic Association$65,000 over one year to build a skateboard park in Orono, which will increase opportunities for physical and recreational activity for children and youth.
Oshawa Camaros Baton Club$15,000 over one year to purchase performance and travel costumes, outfits and equipment. These items will increase participation in the sport of baton twirling, helping to provide physical activity for people of all ages in the community.
Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club$93,400 over one year for soccer equipment and technology enhancements, which will increase the organization's capacity to provide quality soccer opportunities for youth in Oshawa.
Oshawa Symphony Association$185,000 over three years to increase staff, musician fees and salaries, which will help the orchestra to become more sustainable, reach larger audiences and attract and retain musicians.
The Parkwood Foundation$130,800 over one year for path upgrades, access ramps and automatic door openers to ensure barrier-free access for people of all abilities to the gardens and grounds of Parkwood, a national historic site in Oshawa.
Peterborough Community Chaplaincy$58,000 over one year to hire a resource development co-ordinator, produce a resource development plan and attract volunteers and funding. This will allow the organization to provide support to people making the transition from prison to community.
Peterborough Community Housing Development Corporation$75,000 over two years for a research and resource development co-ordinator, supplies and program costs. These will increase the organization's capacity for fundraising so more homes can be made available for low-income families.
Peterborough County Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Community c/o Tri-County Community Support Services$112,000 over two years to hire a co-ordinator, train trainers and purchase resources that will allow this collaborative to provide greater access to learning opportunities for people affected by fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
Pickering Baseball Association$54,300 over one year to install fencing and bleachers at three baseball diamonds and purchase baseball equipment. These upgrades will increase safety and improve skills development for children and youth playing baseball in Pickering.
Pickering Soccer Club$136,000 over one year to redevelop an existing soccer field and make it a more accessible facility. An artificial surface will be installed to extend the season and enable more players and teams to participate in the sport.
Pontypool Community Centre$15,000 over one year for kitchen renovations and equipment, which will support and enable the ongoing use of this well-used community recreation facility.
Port Perry United Church c/o Port Perry Prince Albert Pastoral Charge$150,000 over one year to install a ramp and elevator. These will provide barrier-free access to the church's meeting rooms, kitchens, accessible washrooms and auditorium, supporting increased community use of the building.
Renascent Foundation$75,000 over one year to renovate the kitchen of the residential treatment facility which serves people overcoming addictions to drugs and alcohol. This will improve safety for clients and staff of the facility located in Brooklin in Durham Region.
Riverwalk Collaborative c/o Township of Minden Hills$40,000 over one year to support the installation of a footbridge across the Gull River, which will provide access to trails and promote physical activity for Minden residents and visitors.
Rotary Club of Lindsay$42,500 over one year to establish a main entranceway to the refurbished recreational Rotary Trail in Lindsay, which will promote physical activity for people of all ages and abilities.
Royal Canadian Legion, Douglas C Hatch Branch 624$15,000 over one year to increase sustainability and safety by renovating exterior and interior walls of a community facility in Wilberforce.
Transition House Coalition of Northumberland$18,000 over one year for communications expertise, marketing materials and website development. A strategy will then be launched to increase volunteer and financial support to better assist people who are homeless in Northumberland County.
Westben Arts Festival Theatre Inc.$32,000 over one year for computer equipment, a website and box office upgrades. Communications, outreach and organizational efficiency will improve, helping to increase and encourage community participation in the festival.
Whitby Brass Band$57,900 over one year to purchase brass and percussion instruments, a trailer for transporting equipment and a public address system. These items will help attract a larger number of musicians and improve the quality of concerts and parades.
Whitby Dolphins Inc.$60,600 over one year for equipment, training of coaches and website design. Funding will improve the organization's capacity to provide quality competitive and non-competitive swim opportunities in Whitby.
Youth Emergency Shelter of Peterborough$130,800 over four years for staff, educational materials and transportation costs to establish a life-skills program that will help youth from Peterborough and area communities make the transition to independent adult living.

The Community grants listed below were ratified on November 1, 2007Association des femmes canadiennes-françaises d'Oshawa$8,300 over one year to purchase materials and equipment that will support a French-language skills tournament for high school students called Génies en herbe, and an intergenerational program that brings seniors and young mothers together.
Brighton Health Services Centre$41,500 over one year to replace the heating and air conditioning system in the centre, which provides space for health, social and recreational programs for residents of Brighton and the surrounding area.
Buckhorn Community Centre & Athletic Association$63,700 over one year to replace the centre's roof, renovate the kitchen and purchase appliances. These upgrades will help to increase the safety and effectiveness of more than 500 volunteers and enable community programming to continue.
Central Ontario Lake Planning Cooperative c/o Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations, Inc. (FOCA)$104,700 over 18 months for a co-ordinator who will revise a stewardship planning guide called Take the Plunge and work with Lake Planning stakeholders in the city of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton and Peterborough areas to develop a comprehensive lake planning guidance tool.
Cobourg Museum Foundation c/o Victoria Hall$28,300 over one year to improve waterproofing and construct footings, piers and a removable wood plank floor. These improvements will allow archaeology work to continue in the oldest building in Cobourg, which will become a heritage centre.
Community Economic Development for Immigrant Women$225,000 over three years to establish a social enterprise catering business, which will provide training and support for immigrant women in Durham Region to start their own businesses.
Cordova Mines Recreation Association c/o Corporation of the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen$15,000 over one year to refurbish an outdoor arena with a cement pad in the hamlet of Cordova. The arena is a venue for winter and summer sports for people of all ages.
The Corporation of the Town of Cobourg$14,500 over one year to purchase microfilm equipment and materials that will provide better access to local history information for students, researchers and genealogists in Cobourg and Northumberland County.
Gamiing Centre for Sustainable Lakeshore Living$91,500 over two years to hire a co-ordinator to help develop programs and strategic plans. This will help to sustain and build the organization's capacity to continue educational opportunities about natural resource stewardship in the Kawarthas.
Grafton Horticultural Society$15,000 over one year to create a public garden and park in the centre of Grafton, which will include historic plaques and a field stone cairn helping to promote appreciation of local heritage in the community.
Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association$15,500 over one year to hire a planner/co-ordinator to develop a strategic plan and renewal initiatives. Marketing, volunteer recruitment and enhanced educational programs will improve, helping to preserve fish habitats and wildlife in the area.
Highlands Squash Club$15,000 over six months to replace the heating/air conditioning system and install an observation window in the squash court facility. This will contribute to a more functional, revitalized squash club for the Haliburton community.
Kawartha Lakes Food Source$86,100 over two years to support volunteer recruitment and training and implement marketing and fundraising strategies. These efforts will further increase the sustainability and effectiveness of Kawartha Lakes Food Source.
Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative$55,000 over one year to hire a consultant and support the co-ordinator, which will help strengthen the organization's capacity and implement governance training, strategic planning, volunteer recruitment and management strategies.
Kawartha Miniature Project$6,500 over one year to supply building materials to volunteers who will construct scale-model miniature replicas of significant Peterborough buildings and heritage structures for display at the Riverview Park and Zoo.
Kawartha Nordic Ski Club Inc.$74,900 over two years to purchase trail maintenance equipment that will help complete trail upgrades and expand the parking area at the Peterborough club.
Lindsay Golf & Country Club$29,400 over two years to conduct community outreach to introduce golf to youth who would not otherwise have access to the sport.
Market Hall Residency Model Development Project c/o Market Hall Performing Arts Centre$76,500 over 18 months for a research and development officer to pilot a performing-arts residency model project that will help encourage and support arts and culture in Peterborough.
Minden Curling Club$15,000 over one year to increase the club's safety and playing conditions by replacing the current dehumidifier with a desiccant dehumidifier. This will enable the club to continue providing healthy recreation for members of this rural community.
Oshawa Vikings Rugby Football Club$57,200 over one year to purchase safety, training and development equipment that will enhance coaching and training programs, which focus on safety and technical skill-building.
Peterborough City Soccer$75,000 over one year to install lights at the soccer facility at Eastgate Memorial Park, which will increase participation in soccer programs and allow greater use of the facility in Peterborough.
Peterborough New Dance and Performance$72,000 over three years for artists fees, administration and a program co-ordinator. This will improve the quality and quantity of contemporary indigenous performing arts in Peterborough, helping to remove barriers and encourage community interest.
Port Perry Scout Hall Restoration Committee c/o Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham$75,000 over one year to complete the second stage of renovations of the Scout Hall. The upgrades will improve physical access for people of all abilities and allow better use of this community space for a wide range of programs.
Royal Canadian Air Force Association 420 Wing Oshawa$73,700 over one year to increase access to the building for community groups in Durham Region by adding physically accessible washrooms and improving the entrance and electrical system.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 519 Coboconk$33,000 over one year to replace the roof of this well-used facility that provides a wide variety of community programs and activities.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 77$75,000 over one year to replace the roof, upgrade the air conditioning system and install energy efficient windows in this facility. This will increase community use and enjoyment of the facility for residents of Lakefield.
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 100$15,000 over one year to purchase uniforms, bagpipes and drums to outfit the Brighton Legion Highlanders Band. All members will then be able to participate in practices, performances and competitions.
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 381$15,000 over one year to drill a well and install pumping equipment and a water filtration system at the Legion hall. This will increase the quantity of water for this important community facility that serves the residents of Apsley and area.
Shelter of Hope Pathway Group c/o Township of Hamilton$68,200 over one year to construct a half-kilometre walking trail adjacent to the animal shelter, which serves four municipalities in Northumberland County. This will provide a safe place for volunteers to walk and interact with animals.
Simcoe Hall Settlement House$72,800 over 10 months to provide new windows, flooring, electrical upgrades and a heating system in this facility in Oshawa. Improvements will result in a more functional facility for vulnerable children, youth and seniors.
Special Olympics Ontario Inc.$75,000 over one year to promote the 2008 Provincial Spring Games in Durham Region. Health and fitness will be encouraged for people with intellectual disabilities through school outreach, volunteer recruitment and a healthy athletes expo.
The Township of Brock$14,800 over one year to replace 21 windows in a heritage library building in Beaverton and do electrical upgrades and allow for the installation of four new computer stations. This will enhance energy efficiency and program access.
Whitby Basketball Association c/o Basketball Ontario$5,600 over one year to purchase five shot clocks and help the Whitby Basketball Association implement International Basketball Federation rules and conform to Basketball Ontario standards at the community level.
Whitby Minor Baseball Association$44,100 over one year to purchase equipment, which will support skill development in players aged 5 to 21 years and coaches.
Whitby Ringette Association c/o Ontario Ringette Association$37,800 over one year to purchase equipment and increase advertising. This will help the association to involve more youth in the sport of ringette and benefit from healthy physical activity.
YWCA of Peterborough Victoria & Haliburton$72,800 over one year for a research co-ordinator and a research consultant to review and evaluate the organization's violence against women services. Women, girls and community members will take part in the review to help develop a new service delivery model.

Campbellford-Seymour Agricultural Society$49,000 over one year to replace lighting and fencing at the Campbellford-Seymour Fairgrounds, which will improve their quality and safety and promote increased use of the grounds.
The Cardiff Community Association c/o Municipality of Highlands East$15,000 over one year to ensure access to safer recreation and physical activity for children by installing a new playground structure in the community of Cardiff in Haliburton County.
Colborne Art Gallery c/o Corporation of the Township of Cramahe$39,300 over one year for restoration and improvements to the Colborne Art Gallery, which will help ensure the preservation of the historic building and provide ongoing cultural and artistic appreciation opportunities for the community.
Corporation of the Municipality of Brighton$42,300 over one year to renovate two ball diamonds, which will improve the quality, level and safety of play for citizens in the Town of Brighton and area.

Friends of Castleton Town Hall c/o Corporation of the Township of Cramahe$13,700 over one year for restoration work at the historic Castleton Town Hall, which will help to ensure its preservation and increase its availability for use by the community.
Highlands of Durham Games Inc.$12,100 over one year for a stage, trailer and heavy equipment to support this annual festival, which celebrates Celtic traditions, culture and heritage and is a major tourist attraction for Uxbridge and the region.
Integrated Mental Health System of the City of Kawartha Lakes c/o Canadian Mental Health Association$69,900 over one year to develop a consumer-initiated economic development program as a community-supported model. The program aims to create sustainable employment for people with severe mental illnesses living in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation$35,800 over one year to increase local trail events and community use. The Celebration of Trails will support 25 physical activity events held along the Central Ontario Loop Trail, encompassing five counties in Central East Ontario.
Kendal Lions Community Association c/o Kendal Lions Club$75,000 over one year to increase community activities and ensure safer food-handling at local events by constructing a new kitchen facility in a well-used community centre in Kendal.
Kinark Family Services - Minden$5,300 over 10 months to help children develop sustainable living skills by providing environmental education programs for Grade 7 students from the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County.
Kinsmen Club of Ajax Inc.$34,000 over one year to ensure continued community use of the Kinsmen Heritage Centre by repairing the roof and eavestroughs of the building in Ajax.
Millbrook & District Lions Club$15,000 over one year to enhance volunteer management and ensure safer food storage by purchasing a trailer, barbecue and generator to provide food concessions at outdoor events in Millbrook and area.
Northumberland Players$36,000 over one year to install central air conditioning in the Firehall Theatre in Cobourg. This will enable enhanced programming for youth and allow the facility to be used year-round by the Northumberland Players theatre group.
Northumberland United Way$7,400 over one year for computer and office equipment upgrades, which will enhance the IT capacity of the Northumberland United Way and improve the community's access to multimedia equipment.
Peterborough Ontario Chapter of the SPEBSQSA$10,400 over one year to purchase vests, safety and video equipment, which will improve the rehearsals and performances of this chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Peterborough Rowing Club$54,200 over one year to increase participant safety by replacing the existing dock system. Physical access to the sport of rowing will also be improved by initiating an adaptive rowing program for people with disabilities in Peterborough.
Peterborough Sailing Club$7,000 over one year to increase the safety of sailing participants, particularly those in the learn-to-sail programs, by purchasing one inflatable safety boat for use by members and others at Clear Lake.
Peterborough Theatre Users' Group$9,500 over one year for equipment and staff to support the creation of a new theatre space in Peterborough. This undertaking will promote cultural and artistic activities for all members of the community.
Peterborough Urban Forestry Project c/o Peterborough Green-Up$162,500 over three years to support Peterborough Green-Up in implementing a community-based urban forestry program. It will include public education, neighbourhood tree inventories, remediation in pilot areas, and community recognition and awards.
Pickering Gas & Steam Revitalization Collaborative c/o Rotary Club of Pickering$75,000 over one year to increase volunteer engagement, particularly for seniors. The appropriate tools and work space will be provided to restore heritage steam machinery at a museum in Pickering for the entire community to appreciate.
Pickering Paddlesport c/o West Rouge Canoe Club$70,200 over one year to increase access to and participation in paddling sports by purchasing watercraft and safety equipment. The number of trained volunteer coaches will also be increased for two paddling clubs in Pickering.
Pipes and Drums of Lindsay$15,000 over six months to increase participation in the band by purchasing bagpipes and drums as loaner sets for new members. Better health and safety for participants will also be ensured by the purchase of drum harnesses.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 106 Hastings$13,600 over one year to renovate a washroom at the Legion's Hastings branch, which will enhance the facility and encourage greater community use of this gathering place.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 129$11,200 over six months to provide a safer and healthier environment by replacing the flooring in the community-use room of this 600-member rural Legion facility in Haliburton.
Royal Canadian Legion Havelock Belmont Branch 389$13,000 over one year to install a steel roof, which will enable this Legion hall in Havelock to continue offering recreational activities and meeting space for the community.
Royal Canadian Legion Sir William Stephenson Branch #637$49,100 over one year to sustain the ability of this organization to provide effective recreation programs in north Oshawa by purchasing and installing a new walk-in cooler and replacing aging tables and chairs.
Sturgeon Lake Sailing Club$55,500 over six months to ensure the continued safety of participants and increase access to programs by purchasing sailboats and performing accessibility upgrades to the washroom of this club in Fenelon Falls.
Tyrone Community Centre$15,000 over six months to improve a variety of programs for the entire community by purchasing new tables and chairs for a heavily-used, volunteer-run community centre in the small rural community of Tyrone.
Uxbridge Trails Improvements Team c/o Heart of Ontario Snowmobile Club$67,100 over one year for equipment and signage to improve and maintain the multiuse trail system, helping to promote physical and recreational activity in the Township of Uxbridge.
Volunteering in Youth Sport and Recreation in the Region of Durham c/o Community Development Council Durham$75,800 over two years to increase volunteer recruitment and retention in sports and recreation in Durham Region. Special strategies will be developed to attract more female volunteers and members of ethno-cultural communities.
