capacity of the organization to expand this one-to-one reading enrichment
program for children and youth with learning disabilities in Grey County.

over one year for conference costs to bring together Aboriginal and
non-Aboriginal organizations in Grey and Bruce counties and begin community
reconciliation and healing processes.

Pipe Band to accommodate more members and an increased number of performance
requests throughout Huron County.

establish a five-acre, educational, tallgrass prairie site in Grey County to
store and filter ground water. Once matured, this demonstration site will teach
visitors about the renewal of grassland habitats.
Town of the Blue Mountains

purchase assistive computer hardware and software, which will improve
accessibility to on-line information at the Blue Mountains Library for people of
all ages and abilities.
Township of Bruce Historical Society, The
$15,000 over
one year to publish the book Laneways & Landmarks, which will help to
increase residents' knowledge of their heritage and the local history of the
Township of Bruce.
Van Egmond Foundation
$38,600 over one year to replace
the existing roof of this Egmondville heritage site, enabling the organization
to expand its educational programming for the benefit of school children, other
local residents and tourism in the Huron County area.
Victim Services of Huron County
$6,800 over one year to
purchase equipment for new satellite offices in Wingham and Exeter to enhance
the availability of victim-support services throughout Huron
County.

and window filters in newly renovated spaces at this site. This will ensure an
optimal environment to preserve Canadian heritage artifacts viewed by thousands
of visitors every year.
Brussels Flying Club
$15,000 over
one year to paint and upgrade the exterior of the club's aircraft. Continued
safety will be ensured for youth and participants in Huron County who take part
in flying or use the club's services.
Crossover Festival of Music (Wingham)
$77,000 over two years for a project co-ordinator to develop and implement
an organizational plan. Strategy will be launched to increase the audience base
and build long-term stability.
Friends of Sauble Beach
$15,000
over one year to implement the recommendations of an environmental plan and
install sand fences. The north shoreline of Sauble Beach will be protected
year-round, minimizing erosion and enhancing dune preservation and the natural
environment.
Georgian Bay Folk Society
$85,000
over two years to hire a director of operations and support staff. These
additions will help to build organizational capacity so four new arts programs
can be offered to the Grey Bruce community.
Hanover Senior Citizens Friendship
Club
$13,200 over six months to install energy efficiency upgrades
to enhance comfort, increase community usage and reduce energy consumption. The
activities offered at the facility keep local senior citizens active and engaged
in their community.
Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby
Association
$15,000 over one year to refurbish the existing
buildings. Renovations will ensure the buildings' continued use for the annual
pioneer festival/ reunion, which attracts over 12,000 visitors and 700
volunteers to Blyth every September.
Kincardine Area Bid Euchre Shooter Card Club
(KABESCC) c/o The Municipality of Kincardine
$23,100 over six months
to help furnish and equip the new seniors' area in the Davidson Centre. This
will provide hundreds of seniors with enhanced social and recreational
opportunities on a daily basis.
Kinsmen Club of Listowel
$45,000
over one year for structural upgrades, lighting and cabinets for the club's
community hall. These repairs and purchases will ensure the building remains
structurally sound and safe for a wide variety of public activities.
Mitchell Curling Club
$7,500 over
one year to purchase equipment that will help to establish a junior curling
program. Interested children and youth aged 8 to 14 years in this rural
community will be able to learn and participate in this healthy sporting
activity.
North Perth Outlaws Lacrosse c/o The Howick
Optimist Club
$13,700 over one year to purchase goalie equipment and
shot clocks for use by seven lacrosse teams. These tools will benefit more than
110 children and youth in Huron and North Perth, enhancing safety and ensuring
the sport remains affordable.
Optimist Club of Listowel
$55,000
over one year for lighting, paving and fencing to upgrade the tennis courts. The
area will be safer for over 1,000 youth to participate in the sports of tennis,
basketball and ball hockey.
Osprey Museum
$10,000 over one
year to replace the original windows in this former Salvation Army heritage
building in Feversham. The facility will be more energy efficient, enabling
greater usage for museum programs and other community activities.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102 -
Walkerton
$51,800 over one year for building upgrades to increase
energy efficiency and comfort levels for the hundreds of users in the Walkerton
area. The improvements will help to ensure that operations of this well-used
community facility remain viable.
Stratford & Perth County Community
Foundation
$55,400 over two years to increase the organization's
profile. Workshops and forums will be provided for charitable organizations and
professional advisors to learn about the foundation's endowment programs and
help attract new contributors.
Stratford Minor Baseball
Association
$50,000 over one year toward the cost of upgrading the
light standards at the National Stadium. The facility is used by more than 450
children and adults for sports and recreation.
Stratford-Perth Museum
Association
$43,000 over one year to install an elevator at the
newly purchased site. This upgrade will provide full access to the second floor
exhibits for over 6,000 annual visitors and community members of all
abilities.
Swing, Spring and Flip
Club
$15,000 over one year for regulation mats to increase the
safety and training quality of the club's programs. More amateur gymnasts of all
ages in Saugeen Shores and the Bruce County area will be able to participate in
gymnastics.
Walkerton Golf and Curling
Club
$53,100 over one year for roof repairs and new windows. These
will improve the safety of the curling environment, increase energy efficiency
and enhance the community's use of this Walkerton facility.

$30,300 for a co-ordinator and volunteer management
materials. Two thousand volunteers will be engaged to support the 2008
International Plowing Match, which draws 80,000 people to the Teeswater
area.
Alzheimer Society of Perth County
$76,900 over three
years to hire a volunteer co-ordinator, who will develop a volunteer management
program and help to build organizational capacity for long- term
sustainability.
The Bayfield Historical Society
$15,000 over one year to
publish 350 copies of a book that honours men from Huron County who died in
World War ll. The publication will help to increase residents' knowledge of
their local history and heritage.
Bayfield River Valley Trail Association
$15,000 over one
year to develop three trail loops as 10 kilometer pedestrian walkways in
Bayfield. The trails will encourage people of all ages and abilities to become
physically active.
Bluewater Regional Science & Technology Fair
$38,400
over three years to recruit and engage new volunteer teachers and community
members in Grey and Bruce counties. These volunteers will assist students who
participate in science and technology fairs, promoting education and
excellence.
Central Peninsula Snow-Drifters
$30,000 over six months
to develop the first phase of a 5 kilometer multiuse accessible trail in Bruce
County's Stokes Bay. This will provide opportunities for people of all abilities
to become physically active.
Centre for Applied Renewable Energy (CfARE)
$45,900 over
one year to provide board training and develop a sustainable business plan.
These will enhance the organization's capacity, and increase renewable energy
and economic benefits to rural communities in Huron County.
The Corporation of the Municipality of Brockton
$45,000
over six months to upgrade the geo-thermal heating system at the Elmwood
Community Centre. Energy efficiency will increase and the comfort level improved
for the hundreds of users from Bruce and Grey counties.
Corporation of the Municipality of Meaford
$31,800 to
make the Meaford Museum's front entrance fully accessible to the thousands of
individuals of all abilities who visit it each year.
Corporation of the Town of Hanover
$13,300 over one year
to build a free-ride bicycle park in Hanover. The park will provide local
children, youth and adults with opportunities to become physically active.
Desboro Agricultural Society
$63,700 over one year to
erect a picnic shelter and purchase picnic tables and new playground equipment.
Fencing will be repaired and two baseball fields will be screened, helping to
rejuvenate the community fairgrounds for year-round enjoyment.
Grey Granite Club
$15,000 over one year to replace the
HVAC system that controls temperature in the banquet/meeting room. The facility
is used year-round by members, various not-for-profit and special interest
groups and organizations in the Owen Sound community.
Kincardine and District Lions Club
$30,000 over one year
to replace playground equipment at the Kincardine Lions Park Playground.
Accessible and safer play structures will be installed to encourage children of
all abilities to become physically active.
Mitchell Minor Sports
$5,000 over one year to purchase
goalie equipment and a shot clock that will be used by all eight of the Mitchell
minor ringette teams, benefiting over 100 children and youth in the
community.
Municipality of Huron East
$10,000 over six months to
install energy-efficient upgrades at the Vanastra Recreation Centre. The
retrofitted lights, shower fixtures and furnace will enhance the use of the
facility, help increase physical activity and reduce energy consumption.
Municipality of South Huron
$15,000 over six months to
replace playground equipment in Crediton with safer structures that encourage
children to become more physically active.
Owen Sound Fast Pitch Association
$10,000 over six months
to conduct a fast-pitch skills development clinic. The training will be given to
hundreds of youth and children who will be in Owen Sound for the Canadian Junior
Fastball Championship Tournament in August, 2008.
Perth County Historical Foundation
$40,000 over one year
for masonry and window repairs to the Fryfogel Tavern heritage building in
Shakespeare. This is the oldest remaining building in Perth County and is
visited by children and youth from pioneer education programs.
Rotary Club of Listowel Inc.
$10,900 over one year to
replace the walkway and upgrade the electrical and plumbing systems at the
pavilion in Memorial Park. These improvements will ensure that the facility is
safer for public and recreational use.
Rotary Club of Stratford
$33,900 over one year for a
co-ordinator and communication expenses to revitalize a county-wide
environmental organization called Greenworks. A strategic plan will be
developed, partnerships created and the role of the organization defined.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 - Goderich
$12,500 to
make the second floor of the Goderich Legion fully accessible to people of all
abilities. Lighter doors that are easier to open will be installed with
automatic door openers.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 285 - Dundalk
$20,000 over
one year to provide a healthier and safer environment for members and the
community of Dundalk. The men's washroom will be renovated, water-damaged areas
of the upper-level hall repaired and the roof retiled.
Safe 'n Sound Residence
$29,000 over six months for a
staff person to co-ordinate activities and establish community partnerships that
will help address the emergency housing gap in the Owen Sound area.
Shakespeare Opti-Mrs c/o The Optimist Club of Shakespeare,
Ontario
$5,300 over one year to repair the fence and resurface the
tennis courts in a public recreational park. This upgrade will help to maintain
physical activity opportunities for the community in Shakespeare.
South Huron Chamber of Commerce
$25,500 over three years
to create a sustainable farmers market that will enhance access to locally grown
food, increase tourism and revitalize downtown Exeter.
St. John Ambulance - South Grey-Bruce Branch c/o The Ontario Council
of the Order of St. John
$21,700 over nine months for a co-ordinator
to enable the Owen Sound location to continue offering a variety of first-aid
and health-related training as it becomes a satellite training centre of the
South Grey-Bruce Branch.
Stratford Camera Club c/o Canadian Association for Photographic
Art
$10,100 over one year to purchase digital equipment in order to
keep pace with digital photography. The club will produce digital shows for
community presentations and archive images for historical purposes and monthly
competitions.
Stratford-Perth Family YMCA
$45,000 over three years for
a co-ordinator and support worker to help maintain operations at the youth
centre. The organization will build stable funding for this centre, which
provides programs and support services to rural youth in Mitchell.
Town of Saugeen Shores
$61,800 over one year to purchase
and install an elevator in the Carnegie Library in Port Elgin. This addition
will make all levels fully accessible and open to the public for more hours each
week.
Township of Perth East
$8,500 over one year to create a
youth area within the Perth East Public Library. This will provide rural youth
with access to a collection of information, study space and technological
resources.
Zurich Minor Athletic Association
$12,700 over one year
to install a batting cage and a pitching machine at the Zurich ball diamond.
This addition will help players to develop baseball skills and enhance physical
activity for all local children and youth.
