$128,800 over two years to hire a project co-ordinator, produce tool kits and offer training workshops that promote greater physical activity and better health for low-income women and their families in Brantford, Six Nations and Brant County.

Aphasia Camp c/o Adult Recreation Therapy Centre
$15,000 over two years to hire staff and rent a site where two weekend camps for people with aphasia will be offered. The sustainability of the camps will then improve through increased sponsorship and new partnerships with aphasia groups across Ontario.

Arts After School Kids Inc.
$7,500 over six months to give children in the Eagle Place neighbourhood of Brantford access to music and arts instruction. Funds will enable the program to continue operating while other fundraising supports are developed.

Brant County Federation of Agriculture c/o Ontario Federation of Agriculture
$21,100 over nine months to conduct market research and hold focus groups that explore ways to increase sales of locally grown products to consumers in Brantford and Brant County. This will support the farm economy and encourage new culinary tourism.

Brant/Brantford Roundtable on Poverty c/o Community Resource & Employment Service (Brantford)
$91,600 over two years to hire a co-ordinator who will build the organization's capacity, raise community awareness and create new supports and opportunities for people living in poverty.

Brantford Air Force Club
$15,000 to maintain continued access to a well-used community building by replacing old heating and air-conditioning units with energy-efficient models that improve comfort and reduce costs.

Brantford Black Eye Boxing Club
$11,400 to purchase new equipment that will enhance training opportunities for adults and youth in Brantford and Brant County who have an interest in boxing.

Brantford Seniors Resource Centre
$21,700 over one year to provide seniors in Brantford and Brant County with better access to information about services. An updated version of Access Ability: Seniors' Guide to Services will be produced, printed and made available online.

Canadian Military Heritage Museum of Brant County
$7,500 over two years to purchase advertising and building and museum supplies. Opportunities will then increase for children and youth in Brantford and Brant County to take part in educational programs about military history. 

Child Nutrition Network of Haldimand & Norfolk c/o Haldimand-Norfolk Resource Education and Counselling Help
$14,000 to purchase a computer, appliances and furniture for the Farm to School project for student nutrition programs in Dunnville. The project will support farmers and increase students' access to fresh, locally produced fruits and vegetables.

Long Point Basin Land Trust

$26,000 over one year for staff, communication materials and supplies. These will help the organization attract younger supporters and create innovative partnerships with local businesses in Norfolk County to advance green initiatives.

Long Point Waterfowl Renovation Project c/o Bird Studies Canada
$90,600 over one year to increase access to the Turkey Point Research Education Centre. Improvements will include winterizing the buildings, increasing energy efficiency, upgrading washroom facilities and improving accessibility.

Ontario Forestry Association
$4,900 over six months to increase access to environmental education for youth. Equipment will be purchased for use in the English Ontario Envirothon competition to be held in St. George in May, 2010. (Another OTF grant supports this project.)

Optimist Club of Paris Inc.
$75,000 over one year to provide new recreational opportunities for youth in Brant County by building a state-of-the-art concrete skate park in Paris.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 142 - Dunnville
$23,000 over six months to improve the energy efficiency of this well-used community hall in Dunnville. The electrical heating system will be replaced, reducing the Legion's heating costs and contributing to its financial sustainability.

Walpole Antique Farm Machinery Association
$25,800 over six months to renovate a barn in Jarvis that is used to store and refurbish antique farm machinery.  The renovation will protect artifacts from the weather and provide more opportunities for volunteers to do restoration work onsite.

Waterford Heritage Trail Association
$75,000 over six months to extend the existing trail by more than one kilometre to the north. This will establish a necessary link to Waterford and other trail systems, increasing recreational opportunities for the Norfolk County community.

Alzheimer Society of Haldimand-Norfolk
$14,700 over six months to develop a community resource library for people with dementia and their care partners. This will increase opportunities for clients and families to participate in games and activities that promote better health.

Brantford Aquatic Club
$68,500 over one year to maintain access to high quality training and competition opportunities for swimmers by renovating and rewiring the timing booth office, improving the storage system and upgrading racing equipment.

Brantford Symphony Orchestra Association Inc.
$61,200 over two years to support a new music education program for elementary school students in Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk. Grant funds will be used for additional administrative and artistic staff time and support for the symphony.

Caledonia Ringette Association
$12,200 over one year to attract new players to the youngest divisions of the sport by providing protective and game equipment on a loan basis. This will reduce the cost of trying the sport and increase interest in ringette.

The Canadian Chestnut Council
$11,400 over 32 months to increase outreach, upgrade marketing initiatives and broaden membership, volunteer and partnership activities for the preservation of chestnut trees. (Another OTF grant supports this project.)

Carolinian Canada Coalition
$30,000 over three years to establish a Lake Erie Carolinian Coastal Trail System to help save coastal species, habitats and ecosystems at risk in communities along the north coast of Lake Erie. (Other OTF grants support this project.)

H-N Community Band Collaborative c/o Old Town Hall Association
$14,800 over six months to increase community access to this active community band through the purchase of musical instruments and new music.

Norfolk Soccer Club Inc.
$64,200 over one year to enhance soccer facilities in Delhi by assisting with the construction of change rooms, showers and a clubhouse for adults and youth playing soccer.

Old Town Hall Association
$90,000 over 18 months for staff, equipment and promotions. These will strengthen this Waterford association's ability to manage ongoing operating costs by expanding rental and educational programs and implementing a resource development plan.

Royal Canadian Legion Dunsdon Branch 461 - Brantford
$15,000 over one year to maintain community access to this well-used community hall by replacing the kitchen floor and refrigeration equipment and purchasing a dishwasher and glass washer.

Sexual Assault Centre of Brant
$64,600 over one year to support the Safe Spaces Accreditation Programme, which will assist community agencies in reducing barriers to service for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community in Brantford and Brant County.

Simcoe Little Theatre
$66,000 over one year to increase accessibility and technical production capacity for the theatre by installing an elevator, fully accessible washrooms, improved access to the lighting booth and additional workshop space.

Six Nations Health Foundation Inc.
$40,400 over one year to increase cultural awareness by having community members from Six Nations share digital stories with school children in the surrounding communities.

South Dumfries Figure Skating Club
$13,500 over six months to build the skills of skaters in St.George and attract new members by purchasing new equipment, including a jumping harness and software to analyze sport performances.

Theatre Norfolk
$50,000 over one year to help this newly established theatre organization strengthen its capacity to recruit volunteers and board members and implement a fund development strategy to become self-sustaining.

Triple P Partnership Committee c/o Woodview Children's Centre
$39,400 over one year to train staff from five agencies to implement the evidence-based Positive Parenting Group Program, which will help to enhance Brant County parents' knowledge, skills and confidence.

$64,300 over nine months to upgrade the bird-banding lab, visitor centre and student/researcher accommodations of the Long Point Bird Observatory. This will increase opportunities for students and the community to learn about wildlife conservation.

Boys and Girls Club of Brantford
$25,200 over six months to maintain access to community recreation for Brantford youth through the replacement of the lighting system and two peaked roofs. As a result, the building will be safer and more energy-efficient.

Brant Camera Club c/o Canadian Association for Photographic Art
$15,000 over one year toward the purchase of digital equipment that will allow club members to more effectively present their work to the community, participate in competitions and offer workshops using digital technology.

The Brant Men of Song
$2,000 over three months for the purchase of music to support the Brant County's only male choral group.

Burford Co-operative Preschool Corp.
$6,400 over one year to cover the purchase of a new computer, office equipment and a dishwasher that will support the daycare centre's daily operations.

The Burford Lions Club
$25,000 over three months for constructing a walking/bicycle trail that will provide a safe off-road link between the village of Burford and Lions Park. The trail will increase access to affordable recreation opportunities for the community.

Burford Co-operative Preschool Corp.
$6,400 over one year to cover the purchase of a new computer, office equipment and a dishwasher that will support the daycare centre's daily operations.

Business Retention and Expansion Caledonia c/o Caledonia Regional Chamber of Commerce
$23,300 over six months to enhance the economic development of Caledonia through the preparation of a long-term strategic plan for community revitalization.

Canadian Industrial Heritage Centre
$29,900 over two years for a part-time executive director who will help manage the centre's collection, develop partnerships with the business community and create an on-line virtual museum to increase awareness of Brant County's industrial heritage.

Community Addiction and Mental Health Services of Haldimand & Norfolk
$17,900 over one year to develop curriculum and materials. Volunteer counsellors will then be trained to assist their peers with financial issues and adopting more physically active lifestyles.

Community Sports Complex Project c/o Royal Canadian Legion Branch 158 - Port Dover
$50,000 over one year to increase access to sports in Port Dover by contributing to the construction of a skate park, tennis courts and ball hockey pad located behind the local school.

$45,800 over one year to assist with the purchase of a new more fuel-efficient cube van for the ReStore. This will result in continued diversion of used building materials from the local landfill.

Haudenosaunee Woodland Stewardship c/o Grand River Employment & Training Inc.
$71,700 over one year for a facilitator, teaching aids and greenhouse-space rental to promote child-and-youth-citizen involvement and leadership in protecting the natural habitat of the Carolinian woodlands at Six Nations.

Indigenous Elders and Youth Council
$31,400 over one year for a project co-ordinator and program booklets. The project will document and preserve for posterity traditional knowledge about puberty, sexual health and young parenthood at Six Nations.

Jarvis Lions Park - Extreme Makeover Project c/o Jarvis Lions Club
$50,000 over one year for upgrades to baseball diamonds, the warning track and fencing at the park. This will maintain access to high-quality recreation facilities in Jarvis and help the community to attract more sporting events.

Kids Can Fly, Early Child Development and Parenting Support
$10,000 over six months to sustain community access to high quality early childhood development programs and to increase access to these services for immigrant and newcomer families in Brantford and the County of Brant.

Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation (LPWBRF)
$63,800 over two years for consultants, co-ordinators and communications to support sustainable economic development in Norfolk County. Programs will be developed to attract ecotourism and develop environmental projects for children and youth.

The Lower Grand River Land Trust Inc.
$73,000 over two years to increase the sustainability of Ruthven Park National Historic Site in Cayuga, through increased marketing and the development of enhanced programming for visitors. 

Norfolk County Agricultural Society
$47,700 over one year for a co-ordinator and communications to enhance culinary tourism opportunities. A new Eat and Drink Norfolk festival will be launched to attract new visitors to the area and increase markets for local foods and products.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 125 - Delhi
$4,400 over one year to replace the old furnace in the Delhi Legion Hall.  This upgrade will help to provide a safer, more comfortable facility for community gatherings and recreation.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 - Paris
$7,500 over six months to renovate the Paris Legion Hall. New eavestroughs, roof repairs and attic insulation will make the building more comfortable and energy-efficient.

Six Nations of the Grand River Territory
$15,000 over six months to purchase a sound and lighting system for Six Nations Forest Pageant Theatre and other shared community events.
