$141,900 over two years to expand services to people with ALS in York Region and Simcoe County. A community development program will be launched that will increase support to existing and new ALS chapters.

Arts Society King
$171,600 over three years to strengthen the capacity of the organization and to hire staff, support volunteers, produce a quarterly newsletter and deliver the King Arts Festival, which supports a variety of artistic endeavours in York Region.

Autism Ontario - Simcoe County Chapter c/o Autism Ontario
$30,000 over two years to increase access to social recreation activities by children and youth with autism and their families. Entry fees and venue rentals will be subsidized while this chapter strengthens its fundraising activities.

Autism Ontario - York Region Chapter c/o Autism Ontario
$206,500 over three years to increase recreational opportunities for children with autism by adding new programs to a specialized day camp, offering subsidies to low-income families, and building this agency's infrastructure.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Georgian Triangle
$151,500 over three years to support organizational capacity-building. The organization will restructure staff positions to enhance programs, services and fundraising efforts in support of children and youth in the area.

Bob Rumball "Home for the Deaf"
$225,000 over three years to develop and implement a sign-language training program for staff and volunteers.  Once complete, residents of this Barrie "Home for the Deaf" will no longer struggle to understand or be understood.

Boys and Girls Clubs of North Simcoe
$145,000 over three years to help develop the internal fundraising capacity of the organization. Staff will be hired to work with volunteer teams to raise operating funds while increasing awareness of recreation programs for children and youth.

City of Vaughan Baseball Association
$150,000 over three years to help build organizational capacity and ensure sustainability. Funding will be used to hire a full-time administrator, enhance the organization's website, purchase training equipment and help host National Championships.

Community Foundation of Orillia & Area
$46,000 over one year to raise this community foundation's profile among potential donors and improve its long-term operating sustainability by building its capacity to launch and run fundraising events.

Elder Connections and Tzivos Hashem Canada Inc. c/o Elder Connections
$205,000 over three years to reduce isolation among seniors from different cultural backgrounds, and to increase youth's involvement in the Vaughan community and knowledge of their own heritage, by creating an intergenerational mentoring program.

Holland Landing Literacy Garden Project c/o Friends of the East Gwillimbury Library
$75,000 over nine months to create a literacy garden at the Holland Landing Community Centre and Library. Funding will be used to create a space for library programs as well as community-based horticultural programs.

Humber River Shakespeare
$15,000 over six months for staff, workshop and production costs to present a community theatrical production. The project will provide communities along the Humber River in York Region with free accessible Shakespearian workshops and theatre.

Irish Canadian Rugby Club
$15,000 over one year to support the purchase of safety and training equipment as well as the certification of club volunteers.

Ja'fari Islamic Housing Corporation - Crescent Village Trust c/o Ja'fari Islamic Housing Corporation
$81,000 over one year to support the recreational needs of area youth. Funding will be used to construct two outdoor basketball courts and support programs in this Richmond Hill community.

Kids for Turtles Environmental Education
$70,000 over two years to build organizational capacity, conduct community outreach, and develop programs and services to increase revenues.  Funding will be used to support the part-time staffing costs for this Orillia-based organization.

Literacy Council of South Simcoe
$15,000 over one year to increase access to one-to-one and group literacy training in South Simcoe by renovating this agency's premises to make more space for learners.

MacLaren Art Centre
$15,000 over one year to make this Barrie gallery's photographic collections more accessible to the public by purchasing a new server that will enable the gallery to digitize the images and then post them to its website.

Markham Concert Band
$7,200 over one year to increase this amateur concert band's ability to play at a wide range of venues, both indoor and outdoor, by purchasing folding chairs and a trailer to transport percussion instruments and other heavy equipment.

Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians
$122,500 over one year to renovate and increase the size of the organization's community hall. This will allow it to expand both its youth and seniors programs, providing more events and activities for the Filipino community.

Midland Area Reading Council
$128,300 over two years to increase the availability of literacy, numeracy and basic employment skills-training in North Simcoe by building this agency's infrastructure and expanding its programming to better serve young adults.

Quest Gallery and Huronia School of Visual Arts
$200,000 over four years to build organizational capacity. Funding will be used to hire staff, grow programs, foster community support and develop a long-term vision for the arts in Penetanguishene and surrounding area.

The Scottish Rite Learning Centres for Children - Barrie c/o The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation of Canada
$89,500 over one year to help establish a new Learning Centre for children and youth.  Funding will assist with facility renovations, the purchase of equipment and provide training opportunities for volunteer tutors.

The Sharing Place Orillia Incorporated
$150,500 over three years to improve the provision of emergency food to people in Simcoe County by building this agency's infrastructure and increasing its fundraising capacity.

Wasaga Beach Woodworkers Club
$9,100 over five years to upgrade aging equipment and assist with increased operating costs.

Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival
$155,000 over three years to support expansion and build long-term sustainability of this community festival by building its infrastructure, hiring more professional entertainers and purchasing equipment.

York Centre for Children, Youth & Families
$220,300 over three years to increase awareness and usage of this agency's services to children with mental health issues among families from different cultural communities in York Region.

Zareinu Educational Centre of Metropolitan Toronto
$276,500 over five years to enable this agency to serve more children with special needs in York Region by building its fundraising capacity.

$141,500 over three years for a project co-ordinator and resource materials to increase affordable housing in Collingwood by undertaking research, education and community development with local government, landlords, residents and developers.

Association des francophones de la région de York Inc.
$25,000 over one year to hire a part time volunteer and program co-ordinator who will develop programs and activities for the Francophone population of York Region.

Aurora Historical Society
$25,000 over six months to preserve the Town of Aurora's heritage by undertaking a business plan to inform the future development and sustainability of Hillary House, a National Historic Site.

Barrie Music Festival Association Inc.
$14,900 over one year to purchase office equipment and fundraising software.  These will build the organization's capacity to expand programs and ensure volunteers have an efficient work space in which to operate.

Between Friends, Aboriginal Clothing and Book Drive c/o Kids Come First Child Care Services
$102,700 over two years for a co-ordinator, supplies and training to organize two annual clothing and book donation drives. These events encourage philanthropy and volunteerism among Thornhill children and assist Anishinabe families in need.

Canadian Multicultural Links Association
$44,800 over three years for research, materials and equipment to deliver informational workshops to schools, hospitals, churches and corporations. The program will help foster greater acceptance and understanding of diversity in York Region.

Canadian Museum of Hindu Civilization
$15,000 over one year to support operating costs at the museum.  Funding will be used to hire two part-time staff to train volunteers and maintain the facility in Richmond Hill.

Canadian Spinal Research Organization
$15,000 over one year to translate the After and Beyond Spinal Cord Injury Resource Manual into French for distribution in York Region and Simcoe County. This will help meet the needs of more than 300 Francophones with disabilities in these regions.

Club Uruguay
$15,000 over six months to complete club house renovations, including the installation of a new furnace and air conditioning.  Renovations will improve comfort and enhance the cultural celebrations and events hosted at the Concord facility.

David Busby Street Centre
$190,000 over three years to help develop the internal fundraising capacity of the organization. Staff will be hired to develop volunteer teams to raise operating funds and increase community awareness of homelessness issues in the Barrie area.

DeafBlind Ontario Services
$108,200 over 18 months for consultants, training and office equipment. Service standards and benchmarks will be developed and evaluated to ensure the consistent quality of services provided to people who are deafblind in York Region.

Elmvale Curling Club
$55,000 over one year to assist with mechanical and structural repairs at the curling rink. The completion of the work will ensure the community has a safe and enjoyable venue that meets their sport and recreational needs.

Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham
$248,000 over four years for staff, promotion and equipment to hold an annual one day diversity job fair at a mall. This will be attended by a wide range of employers and agencies and will give newcomers access to employment opportunities.

Filipino Canadian Association of Vaughan
$37,000 over three years for a part-time co-ordinator, gym rentals and advertising. The resources will improve outreach, enhancing and expanding recreational activities for Filipino-Canadian and other youth in Vaughan.

Fuerza Latina Community Services
$15,000 over one year to better meet the needs of different cultural communities in Vaughan by purchasing office equipment with which to improve this agency's outreach and volunteer recruitment.

Georgian Bay Native Womens Association
$139,000 over three years for an executive director, training and equipment. These will help to build this family resource centre's fundraising, marketing and networking capacity so it can provide better services to Anishinabe families in Midland.

Georgian Triangle Tourist Association and Convention Bureau
$75,000 over one year for an organizational consultant, marketing materials and advertising. Strategic, fundraising and marketing plans will be developed to help the association improve tourism marketing services in the Georgian Triangle.

Georgina Military Museum
$20,500 over six months to replace the HVAC system and acquire artefacts for display at this community military museum in Keswick. These improvements will enhance interest in the museum and make the facility more comfortable for visitors.

Georgina Trades Trading Inc.
$302,800 over three years for staff, equipment and furniture to build this organization's infrastructure. More programs that enable high-school students, youth and adults to learn skilled trades locally will be offered.

Hospice Simcoe
$135,600 over two years for a co-ordinator to manage volunteer recruitment. Office equipment for the new residential facility will also be purchased, strengthening the hospice so it can enhance and increase palliative care services in Barrie.

Huronia Foundation for the Arts
$60,000 over three years for an office manager who will assist with organizational capacity building. This will help policy and program development build a vibrant arts and culture community in North Simcoe and South Muskoka.

Losing Our Parents
$27,800 over one year for Web development and marketing materials. An information campaign will be carried out to support the launch of a new website that provides support to bereaved families in York Region.

Markham Aquatic Club
$70,300 over one year for a co-ordinator, marketing materials and training equipment. These will help to promote and develop the sport of competitive swimming in the Town of Markham. 

Markham Centennial Bocce Club
$60,100 over one year to purchase kitchen fixtures, appliances, furniture and bocce equipment. These will help furnish a new club facility and increase participation in the sport of bocce.

Midland Small Set Co-operative Nursery School
$6,500 over six months to purchase storage containers, children's chairs and toys. The replacement of aging equipment will ensure greater safety and a better quality pre-school experience for children and their families.

Orillia and District Arts Council
$112,500 over three years for staff, workshop materials and office rent. The organization will then be able to better promote community awareness of the arts and increase participation with expanded programs and stronger fundraising.

Oro-Medonte Minor Sports Association c/o Oro-Medonte Minor Hockey Association
$94,200 over two years for a co-ordinator, office supplies and registration software. These resources will help to build the internal capacity of the association to provide communications, marketing and easy-to-use, accessible recreation services.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 414 - Woodbridge
$87,500 over one year to install automatic doors and an access ramp at the hall entrance and upgrade the heating and cooling system. These improvements will make this facility safer, more comfortable and accessible to all members of the community.

Simcoe County Communities Foundation Administrative Hub c/o Huronia Communities Foundation - La fondation communautaire de la Huronie
$22,900 over 6 months to study the feasibility of creating a single administrative hub for four community foundations. The resulting economies of scale will increase funding opportunities for non-profit agencies.

Simcoe County Farm Fresh Marketing Association
$75,000 over two years for a program manager and a computer. These will help the organization build infrastructure and marketing capacity to promote the availability of local food and build sustainable, healthy local food systems.

The Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum (Ontario) Digitization Project c/o The Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum (Ontario)
$225,000 over three years for staff and computer equipment to catalogue and digitize the museum's collection. These will enhance public accessibility and support the development of curriculum-based programming for educational institutions in Ontario.

Special Olympics Ontario - Collingwood Alpine Ski Teams c/o National Ski Academy
$40,000 over 12 months to establish training programs for Special Olympics Ontario Alpine Ski Teams based in Simcoe County. Special Olympic athletes will receive individualized training programs supervised by National Ski Academy Coaches.

Windfall Ecology Centre
$100,000 over two years for an education co-ordinator, office equipment and space to develop education and employment programs at the centre in Aurora. Leaders will be trained and developed to support a green economy, which will lead to green jobs.

$25,000 over six months to enable this organization to fulfill its potential as a sustainable, regional arts council by undertaking a strategic planning process.

Aurora Youth Soccer Club Inc.
$170,000 over three years to increase organizational capacity related to volunteer recruitment, player development and marketing. Funding will be used to hire staff as well as redevelop the organization's website.

Barrie Art Club, Inc.
$7,400 over six months to increase participation in the fine arts among Barrie residents of all ages. New furniture, equipment and supplies will be purchased to improve the organization's premises and its website.

Barrie Folk Society Inc.
$30,400 over three years to enhance and grow this local Barrie festival. Funding will be used to support audience development, expand marketing efforts, increase ticket revenues and support event volunteers.

CONTACT and Nottawasaga Futures c/o South Simcoe Community Information Centre
$80,600 over one year to improve the delivery of social and employment services in New Tecumseth. Community access to learning opportunities will improve by establishing an accessible, integrated community services centre or common roof.
 
Elizabeth Fry Society of Simcoe County
$225,000 over three years for staff to provide skills training and job experience to women with histories of substance abuse, domestic violence, poverty or incarceration and to build the infrastructure for an auction service business.

Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre Inc.
$170,000 over three years for staff, supplies, furniture and equipment to establish a cultural resource centre. It will help preserve and promote Aboriginal culture in the Midland-Penetanguishene area and enhance this agency's core programs.

Gibson Cultural Centre Corporation
$35,000 over one year for a volunteer co-ordinator, training and a computer to help build this Alliston organization's capacity to manage volunteers. A program will be developed to recruit, train and reward community volunteers.

Horses At Heart Therapeutic Equestrian Adventures Inc.
$120,000 over three years for staff, furnishing and supplies to increase equine-assisted therapy in York Region for children with mental health issues. Fundraising will also increase to provide riding experiences to children from low-income families.

Huronia Players Theatre Group Inc.
$79,000 over one year to purchase light, sound and video equipment for this community theatre located in Midland. Funding will ensure access to a high-quality theatre space for a variety of local arts organizations.

Literacy Council York-Simcoe
$218,200 over three years for staff, training workshops and office equipment to implement fundraising and marketing campaigns. These programs will enhance adult literacy and employment services in York Region and increase the agency's sustainability.

Markham District Veterans Association Incorporated
$41,000 over six months to support repairs and renovations to enhance the safety and comfort of this aging community facility in Markham. Funding will be used to replace the roof, paint the exterior and replace walkways and flooring.

Markham Lions History c/o Markham Lions Club
$71,700 over one year to hire a researcher and a videographer to produce an exhibit at the Markham Museum. The 65-year history and achievements of the Markham Lions Club will be displayed, promoting volunteerism and celebrating the town's heritage.

Ontario Bocce Association
$20,000 over six months to increase community awareness and participation in the sport of bocce among York residents of all ages. Funding will be applied to the costs of hosting the North American Bocce Championships in the City of Vaughan.

Opera York
$186,200 over four years for a marketing manager, advertising and equipment to increase and enhance professional opera in York Region. This company's production values and its sustainability will be improved with fundraising and marketing campaigns.

Orillia Area Community Development Corporation
$200,000 over four years for a program co-ordinator, workshops and subsidies to develop a social enterprise that will help youth and youth at risk become employed. Youth aged 16 to 29 years will launch a business and grow it to be self-sustaining.
 
Oro Station Community Hall Corporation
$90,000 over one year to complete much-needed repairs and renovations to this 100-year-old community hall in Oro Medonte. Upgrades will increase efficiency while lowering operating and maintenance costs, ensuring community access for years to come.

Parkinson Society Canada, Central and Northern Ontario Region c/o Parkinson Society Canada
$159,700 over three years to expand services to people with Parkinson's disease in York Region and Simcoe County. A co-ordinator will be hired for a community development program that supports existing Parkinson Society chapters and creates new ones.

Richmond Hill Disabled Program/Service Feasibility Study c/o Richmond Hill Mobility Accessibility Foundation
$25,000 over six months to conduct a feasibility study in the Town of Richmond Hill and determine program and facility needs for people with disabilities. The study will focus on program development at the new Crosby Park recreational facility.

Royal Canadian Air Cadets - 94 Newmarket Squadron
$14,900 over one year to purchase biathlon equipment, which will help to promote both recreational and competitive programs for youth aged 12 to 18 years.

South Simcoe Streams Network c/o Nottawasaga Community Economic Development Corporation
$157,100 over three years to complete stream-restoration projects that will address land-use impacts. Staff will be hired to engage the community in improving the health of streams and rivers in the Lake Simcoe and Nottawasaga River watersheds.

Vedic Cultural Centre
$150,000 over one year for repairs and equipment purchases to complete renovations at this Markham centre. Upgrades will ensure community members have a safer, more accessible space to take part in a variety of programs and services.

York North Family Resource Programmes
$52,000 over one year to ensure the ongoing provision of family resource programs to the Mount Albert community. Staff will be hired to ensure services continue and expand as new funding sources are sought.

York Region Abuse Program
$35,000 over one year for a consultant to complete a comprehensive review of the Abuse Prevention Program. This project will ensure the program remains effective, sustainable and responsive to community needs across York Region.
