Arising Women Place
$150,000 over two years for a
co-ordinator, instructors, facility rental and insurance to provide recreational
and fitness programs for women and seniors in Scarborough, encouraging social
activity and physical well-being.
Arts for Children of Toronto
$225,000 over three years
for artist-teachers, supplies and overhead to expand the Community Sharing
Program. Children and youth from priority neighbourhoods will develop art
projects to be donated to a social service program in the community.

for staff, marketing and production costs. These improvements will help build
this performing arts company's capacity to develop programs, and attract
audiences and volunteers in underserved neighbourhoods in Toronto.
Big Day Out Collaborative c/o World Literacy of
Canada
$35,000 to support a two-week excursion and literacy
day-camp. Middle- and high-school students from North York's Jane and Finch area
will then have an opportunity to increase their success as students and
participate in healthy physical activity.
Canadian Artists' Representation Ontario
$14,900 to
purchase computer hardware, software and storage equipment for the
organization's facility in Toronto. This will increase its capacity to provide
effective and efficient service to visual artists in Ontario.
Canadian Children's Dance Theatre
$150,000 over nine
months to refurbish and repair a dance facility in downtown Toronto. The
upgrades will increase energy efficiency and improve safety so the facility can
continue to offer dance programs to children and youth aged 8 to 18 years.
Circle of Home Care Services (Toronto)
$64,400 over six
months for a 10-passenger vehicle, which will increase access to medical care
and decrease isolation for seniors and people with disabilities in North Central
Toronto.
Communauté jeunesse afro-francophone de Regent Park a/s La Passerelle
(Centre des Jeunes Francophones de Toronto)
$38,000 over two years
for Espoir des jeunes de Regent Park, an after-school program and summer camp
for Francophone children and youth that will help enhance school success and
improve literacy, computer skills and math scores.
Community Development for Children's Learning c/o Frontier
College
$223,700 over three years for an outreach co-ordinator,
conferences and expenses. The organization will engage parents, community
resources and volunteers in local homework programs across Toronto that support
children and youth's learning needs.
Consortium des organismes MREF de Toronto a/s Auberge Francophone
d'Accueil et de Service aux Refugiés
$80,000 over two years for
staff, rent and computers to help consolidate three organizations into one
location in West Toronto. This will improve efficiency and resource utilization
to better serve the Toronto ethnoracial Francophone community.
Coopérative Collection Academia a/s Réseau de développement
économique et d'employabilité de l'Ontario
$105,000 over two years
to purchase sewing equipment and offer training to primarily
Francophone-immigrant women in Scarborough. A co-operative sewing social
enterprise will be created to enhance employability skills.
Davenport Perth Neighbourhood Centre
$148,000 over two
years for Hip Hop Humanities, an intercommunity education and enrichment project
that will provide opportunities for youth and adults in three Toronto
communities to gain skills for addressing issues that affect their lives.
East Metro Youth Services
$149,600 over two years for a
community worker, materials and administrative costs to train students to
deliver a violence prevention program, expanding it into Catholic schools in
Toronto's west end.
Eco Ambassadeurs a/s Réseau de développement économique et
d'employabilité de l'Ontario
$90,000 over two years for a pilot
project on environmental sustainability. Volunteer leaders will be trained as
eco-ambassadors who will create activities and workshops for Francophone
students in Toronto elementary and secondary schools.
Etobicoke Basketball Association
$4,700 over one year to
purchase five shot clocks. This will enable the club to adhere to the Federation
of International Basketball Association's rules and improve the quality of its
programs.
Etobicoke Diving Club
$74,300 over one year to purchase
equipment and rent gym space. This will increase the club's ability to meet the
needs of current users and its capacity to accommodate more people interested in
participating in the sport of diving.
The Factory Theatre Lab
$130,000 over one year in order
to replace the theatre's roof, obtain new lighting equipment and purchase new
velour drapery. These upgrades will help preserve the physical infrastructure of
this heritage building for the Toronto community to enjoy.
First United Pentecostal Church of Toronto
$150,000 over
two years for technical expertise, administration, equipment and software to
operate a film and video post-production training program for youth in
Scarborough. The program will promote youth engagement and employability.
FrancoQueer a/s Oasis Centre des Femmes Inc.
$10,000 over
one year to co-ordinate a symposium on verbal abuse within relationships for
lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transsexual Francophone-minority individuals
living in Toronto.
Franklin Carmichael Art Group
$57,000 over one year for
an administrator, consultant and computer equipment. These will allow this
Etobicoke visual arts promotion group to launch its business plan strategies and
help support a growing number of members and participants.
Friends in Trouble Youth Initiative (FITYI)
$14,900 over
six months for furniture, computer equipment and supplies to renovate this youth
drop-in centre in Downsview Park in Toronto. The appearance, comfort and safety
of the space will be enhanced for youth, volunteers and staff.
Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography
$127,700
over one year to renovate the gallery and purchase computers and equipment. This
will provide the downtown Toronto facility with better physical and
technological tools to meet the needs of community photographers and
participants.
Goodwill Industries of Toronto
$100,000 over six months
to purchase material handling equipment, storage containers and computers to
ensure more efficient operations of this community organization located in
Toronto.
Grand Ravine Youth Centre Collaborative c/o St. Alban's Boy's and
Girl's Club
$125,000 over one year to build an addition to the Jane
and Finch Boys and Girls Club facility in North York. The expanded program space
will increase access to safe recreation for children and youth in the
community.
Heritage York
$14,300 to purchase an industrial
dishwasher, whiteboard, screen and LCD projector. These items will help to
upgrade the community meeting space at Lambton House, a volunteer-run historic
building in the old city of York.
The Hockey Association for the Developmentally Challenged
(HADC)
$16,000 to help fund an annual international special hockey
tournament in North York. Six hundred players with disabilities on 40 teams from
across North America and England will attend, promoting healthy recreation for
people of all abilities.
Humewood House Association
$132,100 over two years to
support parenting programs, volunteer development and community partnerships at
a young-parent resource centre. Local supports for young-parent families in
North York will then be improved.
Interval House
Toronto
$150,000 to renovate and retrofit the organization's
basement and main floor. This will double its space, increasing efficiency and
better accommodating program growth to help more women across Toronto live free
of violence.
Justice for Children and Youth
$131,000 over two years to
increase Toronto street youth's awareness of their legal rights and
responsibilities. Funds will be used for drop-in services, workshops, education
materials and training as well as a city-wide needs assessment.
Ko-Ach Adventures
$6,000 over eight months to support an
outdoor experience program for Toronto youth at risk and people with autism by
purchasing four new canoes designed for wilderness adventures. Participants will
develop skills, character and improved well-being.
Latin-Afro Fest a/s CANORAA Inc.
$10,000 over one year to
co-ordinate this four-day multidisciplinary festival that features music, dance,
video, DJs and visual arts exhibits from Latino, African and West-Indian artists
in various downtown venues in Toronto.
Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests
$179,800
over three years for staff, materials and expert help to strengthen the
organization's capacity to develop volunteer resources, and implement
revenue-generation plans to help protect and improve Toronto's urban forest.
North York Central Meals on Wheels
$7,200 to purchase and
install an upright freezer and obtain insulated delivery bags. These will
facilitate more efficient delivery of better-quality meals to seniors and people
with disabilities who rely on Meals on Wheels in North Central Toronto.
Once Upon A Time c/o Iranian-Canadian Centre for Art and Culture
(ICCAC)
$29,500 over nine months for staff resources and volunteer
expenses to produce an Iranian-Canadian integrated arts and cultural summer
festival to be held at Harbourfront in Toronto, in July 2008.
Parkdale Golden Age Foundation
$225,000 over three years
for staff resources, materials, building rental and computers. An after-school
intergenerational program will be provided to help children and youth in the
Malvern community of Toronto learn and develop skills.
Peach: Promoting Economic Action and Community
Health
$172,500 over 28 months for staff resources to strengthen
organizational capacity. These will help sustain and expand programs for youth
at risk in North York's Jane and Finch area, encouraging them to stay in school
and make positive life choices.
Regent Park Film Festival
$15,000 for computers, office
furniture and exhibition equipment. These will help enhance the technological
and operational capacity of this Toronto festival, helping it to expand
programming, reduce expenses and engage more volunteer participation.
Le Regroupement des Femmes Immigrantes
Francophones
$15,000 over eight months for a consultant who will
lead the organization through a visioning process, program evaluation and a
capacity-building exercise to strengthen its ability to better serve the
Francophone immigrant community in Toronto.
San Romanoway Revitalization Association
$225,000 over
three years to support leadership development and creative programming at a
youth-led studio and drop-in. Youth in the Jane and Finch community will then
have positive alternatives to violence using creative writing and music
production.
Senior Peoples' Resources in North Toronto
Incorporated
$124,600 over two years to improve the health and
wellness of low-income seniors living in central and north Toronto by offering
volunteer-supported, preventative, multicultural programs at locations
throughout the community.
Shakespeare In Action
$90,500 over three years to hire an
experienced education, marketing and development co-ordinator, and develop
program and marketing materials for three programs across Toronto, including the
Shakespeare Student Festival.
Somali Youth Association of Toronto
$136,200 over two
years to add a recreational program to the association's activities, helping to
broaden this youth-led organization's impact in Toronto. Youth will be engaged
in basketball, soccer, cultural dance and yoga classes.
South-west Scarborough Transportation Network c/o Call-A-Service
Inc.
$185,800 over three years for a van, driver and travel expenses
to improve transportation services for seniors and adults with disabilities,
specifically Tamil and Bangladeshi seniors who face cultural, language and
financial barriers.
St. James Town Multipurpose Community Space Project c/o Thorncliffe
Neighbourhood Office
$150,000 over one year to complete renovations
to a multipurpose facility in Toronto's St. James Town. Funding will provide
residents and agencies with a centre for community services and provide a shared
space for tenant and community groups.
Toronto Free Gallery
$90,000 over three years for staff
support for this downtown artist-run centre. This will help it enhance its
administration, expand its revenue sources and build its capacity to better
serve emerging and mid-career artists of diverse communities.
Toronto Hakka Collaborative c/o Tsung Tsin Association of
Ontario
$40,000 over nine months for facility rental, marketing and
volunteer training to hold a two-day conference in Toronto on the Hakka
community's history and culture. The program will build leadership and promote
civic engagement and awareness.
True Davidson Meals on Wheels (East York) Inc.
$69,800
over three years for a part-time co-ordinator, training and program supplies to
expand a volunteer-run grocery-shopping program that assists seniors and adults
with disabilities in East York.
Weston King Neighbourhood Centre
$65,400 over two years
to strengthen volunteer co-ordination and purchase and install air conditioning.
This will enhance service provision to homeless and disadvantaged residents of
Toronto's York-Weston community.
Wexford Soccer Club
$15,000 over eight months to purchase
equipment for house-league and representative programs that will ensure safety
and help the Scarborough club give more children and youth a chance to
participate in healthy recreation.

low-income professional artists in Toronto. Workshops and clinics will help to
provide effective self-care tools and strategies.

help obtain the professional skills and advice needed to begin converting a
city-owned heritage building into a performance venue and community space for
the Theatre Centre in Toronto.
Beatz to da Streetz c/o Touchstone Youth Centre

over three years for an executive director and operating costs to build the
capacity of this Toronto organization's youth-driven urban arts program for
street-involved youth.
Best Buddies - Vrais Copains
Canada
$121,100 over two years to support the expansion of a high
school program in Toronto that pairs students with intellectual disabilities
with students without these disabilities. Student success will be increased and
volunteerism enhanced.
Blake Boultbee Youth Outreach Service
$138,100 over three
years to hire a youth community outreach worker who will expand outreach into
the youth shelter system and help meet increasing demand for the organization's
unique approach to counselling youth at risk in Toronto.
Brockton Collaborative c/o FoodShare Toronto
Inc.
$100,000 over one year for capital improvements including a
walk-in cooler, bolt-down benches and picnic tables for a community garden.
These improvements will help the organization better deliver its community-based
food and nutrition programs.

$106,600 over two years to evaluate capacity building in five
Toronto-based environmental organizations. This will help participants deliver
programs that raise awareness about environmental issues. (Another OTF grant

The Cahoots Greenhouse, which will provide accessible space for culturally
diverse artists of all ages to develop their artistic and performance
skills.

is designed for and targets racial minority families from the ethnocultural

installing an elevator and automatic door openers. Washroom renovations and
landscaping will also be done to facilitate access to settlement services for
people of all abilities in Scarborough.
Chinese Canadian National Council Toronto
Chapter
$225,000 over three years for leadership and community-based
research training and increased civic engagement among Chinese Canadian youth in
Toronto. The program will develop individual and community participation in
alternative social planning.
CHRY Community Radio Incorporated
$15,000 over six months
to digitize the station's music library to create a more efficient and
physically accessible workspace. Improvements will optimize volunteer
experiences for broadcast enthusiasts, including youth from across Toronto.
Community Association for Riding for the Disabled
$50,800
to revitalize the arena and paddocks used by therapeutic horses, which will
provide a safer recreational and therapeutic riding program to children and
adults with disabilities in Toronto.
Creative City: Block by Block Symposium II c/o Art Starts
Neighbourhood Cultural Centre
$30,000 to organize a symposium on
community arts hubs that will convene 150 community artists and key stakeholders
in Toronto to develop new skills, exchange ideas and build new partnerships.
Crescent Town Swim Club
$56,000 over one year to increase
the number of youth club members by creating a long-term, sustainable,
affordable alternative to swimming lessons. Funding will be used to acquire
equipment and train new coaches during program start-up.
Distress Centres of Toronto
$61,700 over six months for a
communications system, a computer system and workstations. This will enhance the
organization's capacity to provide psycho-social support responses in Toronto in
the event of crises such as community-wide disasters.
The Dorothy Ley Hospice
$75,000 over one year to develop
a model of care as the hospice transitions to provide an integrated residential
and community program for people with terminal or life-threatening illness in
Etobicoke.
Downsview Services to Seniors Inc.
$33,400 over six
months to purchase a van that will facilitate access to health care and
social-recreation activities for seniors in Downsview. This will support their
ability to remain active in their community.
Downtown Aquatics Corporation
$19,900 over two years to establish a co-ed
synchronized swimming club in a gay-friendly environment in Toronto. The
organization will also purchase pool equipment to enhance the swimming
experience for the community.
The Hannon-Shields Centre for Leadership and Peace o/a Children's
Peace Theatre
$175,000 over three years to expand and increase
access to meaningful arts and learning experiences for the children and youth of
Crescent Town. The capacity of the Children's Peace Theatre to further engage
with the community will also be enhanced.
Elmer Iseler Singers
$20,500 over six months to expand an
innovative educational outreach initiative called GET MUSIC! in Toronto.
Secondary school and community choirs will participate through interactive
workshops and mentorship.
Ethno-Racial People with Disabilities Coalition of
Ontario
$82,000 over three years to build the organization's
governance, membership and resource-development capacity. Service providers and
policy makers will be engaged to develop more effective, culturally relevant,
barrier-free services across Toronto.
Freedom Youth Collective c/o Urban Alliance on Race
Relations
$100,000 over two years to support a youth-led initiative
that will use art, media and popular culture (blogging, video, hip hop) as
methods to engage youth in Toronto. This initiative will include the development
of a multimedia website.
Greater Toronto Area Netball League
$11,900 over one year
to promote and provide a free junior netball program to African-Canadian girls
and young women in Toronto. Funds will enable outreach, equipment purchases and
the provision of information on health, diet and body image.
Houselink Community Homes
$100,000 over one year to
renovate its premises, providing a new computer resource centre and space for
skills training, wellness education and counselling. These will enhance
programming for people with psychiatric disabilities in Toronto.
John Howard Society of Toronto
$17,500 to conduct
research in the Scarborough community in order to determine how best to enhance
and expand existing outreach services that will improve the well-being of
vulnerable populations and communities at risk.
Junior Undiscovered Math Prodigies (JUMP)
$186,300 over
three years to increase the number of students receiving math tutoring in
Toronto by decentralizing the JUMP program delivery model and enhancing its
capacity to provide one-on-one volunteer tutoring.
JVS of Greater Toronto
$93,400 over six months for
accessibility renovations and client training equipment. A safer, more
accessible and functional work environment will then be created for clients,
volunteers and staff in this north-central Toronto community agency.
Korean-Canadian Symphony Orchestra Association

over three years to improve this Toronto association's organizational capacity
by operating summer music classes, developing a website, purchasing equipment
and increasing staff.
La Maison de la Francophonie a/s RDÉE Ontario

over two years to develop and implement a business plan, incorporate a
governance structure and begin fundraising activities. This work will help
develop the organizational capacity needed to launch this Francophone centre in
Toronto.
Mimico Station Community Organization

months for windows, a heating/cooling system and other internal equipment and
furniture. These purchases will help restore and preserve the historic Mimico
Station and make it suitable for community use by South Etobicoke residents.
Momiji Health Care Society
$97,400 over three years for
equipment, marketing materials and staff to develop the capacity of Momiji's
volunteer program. This will enable more Toronto seniors to receive enhanced
services and help build a more sustainable organization.
Muddy York Rugby Football Club
$4,600 over six months to
purchase good quality equipment. This will help increase membership by removing
barriers to participation, improve the skills of existing players and create
interest in the Toronto community.
The Nightingale Arts Council
$14,700 to purchase
equipment that will improve the quality of the gallery's exhibitions and
presentations in Toronto and eliminate the dependence on costly rental
equipment.
Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association
$40,000 over one
year to support the hosting of the Canadian Olympic Team Trials in Etobicoke in
December 2007. Equipment purchased will be used to increase access to the sport
for youth and junior teams throughout the year.
Out & Out Club (Toronto) Inc.
$64,700 over two years
for a new website, promotional materials, equipment and staff. These upgrades
will help the organization to attract and support increasingly diverse
communities and to better recruit, use and appreciate volunteers.
Planned Parenthood of Toronto
$218,200 over three years
to develop and staff a training centre that will serve staff and volunteers,
including youth volunteers. This will build the capacity of service providers
and volunteers to work more effectively with youth populations.
Rexdale Women's Centre
$53,200 over one year to evaluate
the efficacy of systems and procedures and offer board training. This will help
the organization to be more effective and efficient, improving the quality and
access to services for clients in Etobicoke.
Rose of Sharon (Ontario) Retirement Community c/o Mugungwha
Homes
$39,000 over one year to provide common-area furnishings for a
seniors' retirement home in Toronto. Upgrades will increase the comfort and
availability of social-recreation space, encourage more seniors to participate
and help to reduce isolation.
Sanctuary Ministries of Toronto
$134,400 over three years
to renovate its building, creating a healthier and safer environment for
clients. Better ongoing care will be provided to community members at risk of
isolation due to incarceration, hospitalization or new housing.
Scarborough Gym-Elites Club Inc.
$15,000 over six months
to purchase an assortment of mats and versatile equipment in order to provide a
safer and more accessible environment for children, athletes and other
participants of the gym club.
Scarborough Women's Centre
$218,000 over three years to
increase the capacity of the organization to better serve the needs of women in
Scarborough through partnerships, program delivery, resource development,
marketing and community outreach.
Second Base (Scarborough) Youth Shelter
$88,900 over six
months to replace the shelter's heat pump system with a modern, environmentally
friendly system. This will result in ongoing cost savings and more comfort for
this Scarborough organization which assists homeless youth.
Second Harvest
$250,000 over three years to expand
freezer/cooler space and strengthen volunteer and agency relations. The
organization will then be able to accept perishable food donations and increase
distribution to community-based food programs across Toronto.
Small World Music Society
$175,000 over three years to
build organizational capacity to meet increasing audience demand. Community
members and volunteers will be engaged, administration improved, technology
upgraded and human resources and sponsorships in Toronto increased.
Soundstreams Canada
$150,000 over three years to develop
new strategies, which will expand and diversify audiences for this music
organization. More opportunities will then be provided for community involvement
in its activities in Toronto.
St. Christopher House
$157,200 over three years to
develop the adult learner centre for low-income adults facing barriers to
employment in Toronto. Funding will help to integrate findings from a recent
pilot project into the organization's ongoing operations.
Studio 180 Theatre
$90,000 over two years to equip and
maintain office space and hire a part-time general manager. This will allow the
theatre ensemble to operate year-round, create long-term plans, and ultimately
produce more plays for Toronto audiences.
Theatre Direct Canada
$100,000 over six months to create
and fully equip accessible space at the Green Arts Barn in Toronto. This will
help create and provide professional theatre for young people and arts education
for children, youth and families.
Theatre Gargantua
$14,800 over six months to replace and
upgrade equipment and technology, which will help to enhance data management at
this theatre space in downtown Toronto.
Toronto Artscape Foundation
$225,000 over three years to
hire an events planner who will enhance the organization's capacity to develop
city-wide events and build community, volunteer and donor engagement in the arts
and culture-led regeneration.
Toronto Intergenerational Partnerships
$112,600 over two
years to develop intergenerational programs that will reduce isolation among
seniors, engage youth and build the community of St. Jamestown.
Toronto International Film Festival Group
$206,000 over
three years for staff training and outreach to increase the effectiveness,
health and capacity of the organization. Funds will help it prepare to expand
staff, programs, facilities and audiences at the new Festival Centre in
2010.
Toronto Windfall Clothing Support Service
$202,000 over
three years to build organizational capacity and support program expansions.
This will help provide new clothing, personal care items, housewares and school
backpacks to people living in extreme poverty in Toronto.

impact)
$8,000 over one year for outreach to secondary-school and
university art students. This initiative will help them experience Toronto's
cultural diversity, strengthen the training program and encourage youth
involvement in organizational governance.
Community Care East York
$150,000
over two years to support an integrated wellness project for seniors that will
build individual and community capacity. The initiative will increase seniors'
access to this East York organization.
Conflict Mediation Services of Downsview (grant
has city-wide impact)
$225,000 over three years to increase access
to community-based conflict-resolution services by enhancing the organization's
program, administrative and volunteer capacity to serve North York, East York
and York residents.
For You Telecare Family Service Inc. (grant has
city-wide impact)
$90,000 over three years to provide
Korean-Canadian fathers with resources to build stronger and healthier
relationships with their children through regional workshops, seminars and
self-help groups in North York, Downtown Toronto and Scarborough. (Additional

Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation (grant
has city-wide impact)

increase usable space for programming and improve accessibility for individuals

understand and enhance the social inclusion of poor, isolated mothers through
civic engagement and volunteerism in Toronto communities.

job opportunities in the areas of community and environmental development for

organizational capacity and reach a broader audience for classical music in
Toronto by hiring administrative support.

established artists. It will foster leadership skills in Central Etobicoke,

Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The kiosk will provide a
fully accessible space for volunteers with the Canadian Opera Company and the
National Ballet of Canada.
Centre for Social Innovation (grant has city-wide
impact)
$91,300 over six months to improve the services shared by
over 75 not-for-profit organizations in downtown Toronto by purchasing furniture
and office equipment. These organizations' capacity to achieve their missions
will be enhanced.
Church Street Pipe Band
$10,500 over
six months to increase participation in this Toronto band by purchasing musical
instruments and offering an enhanced free educational program.
Clean Air Champions (grant has city-wide
impact)
$117,700 over two years to implement the Clean Air Achievers
Program in Toronto schools. It will encourage youth aged 11 to 15 years to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve their fitness levels through active
modes of transport and lifestyle. (Additional grants of $21,800 to Eastern
Ontario and $10,500 to Halton-Pell will support this activity.)
The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson
Hall (grant has city-wide impact)
$100,000 over six months to
replace the outdated exterior electronic sign at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall. The
renovation will improve branding, artists' profiles and power
efficiency.
Fred Victor Centre
$223,000 over
three years to improve community access to services for adults who are homeless
and marginalized in Toronto's East Downtown community. Funding will help
renovate the centre's reception area and expand outreach and referral services.
Greenest City Environmental
Organization
$222,000 over 21 months to engage and empower Toronto's
youth at risk and marginalized adults to be leaders in their community. They
will learn to increase local food security, strengthen community ties and
develop special skills.
La Passerelle (Centre des Jeunes Francophones de
Toronto) (grant has city-wide impact)
$75,000 over two years to hold
a job fair that will increase career opportunities in non-traditional trades for
Toronto Francophone students. The centre's office space will also be renovated
and equipment purchased. (An additional grant of $55,000 to Halton-Peel will
support this activity.)
La Société d'histoire de Toronto (grant has
city-wide impact)
$95,000 over three years to increase public
awareness of the Sentier Partagé/Shared Path Park, featuring historic trails
along the Humber River. The Toronto park is a celebration of the Aboriginal,
French and English people who shared this path.
Margaret Frazer House
$56,500 over
one year for board and staff development and to improve fundraising practices as
the organization adopts a hierarchical operating model. The organization will
then better serve women with mental illnesses in East Downtown Toronto.
Mayworks Festival of Working People and the Arts

$15,000 over six months to increase the
technological capacity of the organization by purchasing new office computers,
software and office equipment. The annual festival is a multidisciplinary event
encouraging arts appreciation in Toronto.
Muungano Project c/o The Black Coalition for Aids

$225,000 over three years to
support a joint volunteer-development program. This collaboration will increase
the active engagement of volunteers in providing education to the community and
support to individuals with HIV/AIDS in Toronto.
Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (grant has

$375,000 over five years for the Visiting Schools
Program to raise awareness of Native history, culture and contributions to
society. This initiative will provide personal growth opportunities for
non-Native and Native students across Toronto.
Regent Park Community Health

$147,500 over two years to expand the Pathways to Education
project in Toronto's Regent Park neighbourhood. New initiatives will help
students be mentors and be mentored, and will support vocational students and
students with learning disabilities.

over one year for planning sessions for ethnocultural Francophone entrepreneurs
from different sectors. Funding will provide a training instructor and marketing
costs for a Village Berbère exhibit in the fall of 2007.

marketing and communications for this Toronto community theatre by installing a
ticketing and database software.
