The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) limits the number of applications per organization per cycle across all streams in order to ensure competitive fairness, manage operational workloads, mitigate risk, and ensure equitable access for a broad range of applicants.
OTF accepts one application per organization in any given cycle. This applies to all eligible applicants, including organizations serving as the lead in collaboratives, municipalities, and First Nations. Organizations that act as Emerging Governance Platforms may submit more than one application so long as there is only one application per group or initiative.
Applicants to one of our core investment streams (Seed, Capital, Grow, Collective Impact) may also be eligible to apply to one of OTF’s Special or Provincial Programs (YOF, LPRF, etc.) at the same time, depending on the guidelines for that program.
Eligible organizations may hold more than one grant at a time.
Cycle: the round of granting that begins with deadlines and ends with granting decisions at the OTF Board meeting. A cycle could have a Collective Impact, Seed, Capital and Grow deadline, and applicants would be limited to one application, regardless of stream.
Emerging Governance Platforms: refers to arrangements by which an incorporated not-for-profit or registered charity or otherwise eligible organization provides governance, administrative support, project mentoring, and financial accountability to unincorporated or low-capacity groups delivering programs, services, or projects that benefit the community.
