A new partnership to build digital capacity of non-profit organizations

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) has signed a two-year partnership with the Tamarack Institute and the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience to help non-profit organizations use data and technology for greater impact in their communities.

Studies show that non-profit organizations are behind in digital adoption, transformation, literacy, and skills, despite knowing that digital capacity is essential to reach communities. The pandemic impacted organizations’ to effectively deliver their programs and services and made it clear that funders, intermediaries and community organizations need to respond to gaps in digital capacity across the non-profit sector.

For effective digital transformation of the sector, we can support organizations to use data, develop digital skills and integrate technology into their operations so they can better meet the needs of their communities.

To advance a shared vision of a non-profit sector that is able to use data and technology for greater impact, OTF is pleased to embark on a new partnership with the founders of the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience, which builds on an initial OTF partnership in Technovate. This broader group of partners and advisors will work collectively to:

  • merge resources, knowledge, and strategic ideas to further build and develop the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience as the first-of-its-kind, sector-wide, network focused on advancing technology and digital capacity in the non-profit sector.
  • advance key strategic and operational priorities that will create a more supportive environment for digital capacity for non-profit organizations.
  • help funders identify changes to practices to better support digital transformation.
  • support organizations as they integrate technology and develop skills to transform their organization's programs, services, and work culture, becoming more effective and efficient.
