The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) takes pride in recognizing National Volunteer Week and honouring the volunteers who contribute to the creation of healthy and vibrant communities.

Volunteers are important pillars in our communities. They offer their time, skills, empathy, and creativity to foster greater inclusive, resilience, and community well-being. Volunteering is also instrumental in building meaningful relationships and strengthening community connections.

As a grant-making agency of the Ontario government, OTF invests in hundreds of non-profit organizations and grassroots groups that rely on local volunteers to deliver projects that improve the well-being of Ontarians.

  • Since 2016, over 330,000 volunteers contributed close to 6 million volunteer hours to projects funded through the Youth Opportunities Fund and Community Grants. The unwavering commitment of the volunteers who help deliver essential programs and services across our communities is a testament to the connections volunteers make in their communities and with community members.
  • OTF works with close to 300 volunteers in its unique community-based grant-making. OTF’s Board of Directors and local volunteers who review grant applications play pivotal roles with our teams throughout the grant-making process. They bring their vast experience and knowledge to guide our work and support our commitment to being accountable, transparent, and inclusive.

To all the volunteers who continue to offer their time and kindness to support the work of the non-profit sector, thank you!
